1. Preparation before installation
Environmental requirements: The installation location should be dry
and ventilated, away from heat sources (for example, the engine
compartment should be kept at a distance of more than 20
centimeters), and avoid direct sunlight The load-bearing capacity
of the fixed surface is equal to or greater than the weight of the
battery (approximately 15-20 kilograms for a 12V 160AH lithium
battery)
Tools and materials: Insulated wrench, multimeter, heat shrink tubing, fire-resistant tape The wire should match the
current (160AH full charging current ≈ 32A, it is recommended to
use 10-16mm ² copper wire)
2. Electrical connection steps
Precautions for series/parallel connections:
Single group use: Connect the BMS output terminal (+, - pole)
directly to the load, and connect the BMS input terminal to the
battery pack (connect 3-4 batteries in series and connect the
positive and negative poles in order)
Multiple group expansion: If higher capacity is required (such as
320AH), two 12V batteries need to be connected in parallel (only
supports batteries of the same model and batch. When parallel, the
positive pole should be connected to the positive pole, and the
negative pole should be connected to the negative pole. Each branch
should be connected in series with a 10A fuse)
Grounding and anti reverse connection:
The shell needs to be grounded through a yellow green wire
(grounding resistance ≤ 4 Ω) to prevent leakage The positive and
negative pole connections should be marked with colors (red for the
positive pole and black for the negative pole) to prevent reverse
connection (which can burn out the BMS and even cause a fire)
3. Fixation and protection
Fix the battery with a metal bracket or strap, and place a
shock-absorbing rubber pad (damping coefficient ≥ 0.3) between the
bracket and the battery to prevent welding points from falling off
due to vibration during driving The terminal block needs to be
insulated with heat shrink tubing, and exposed wires should be
wrapped with corrugated tubing to prevent wear and tear
